Four Types of Airbnb Clean

It's important to consider how to keep your investment in good condition as guests come and go from your home. Even if the property is unoccupied for a while or guests aren't living there permanently, it still undergoes wear and tear. Assuming this is a business venture for you, remember that reviews can significantly impact your success.
Not all cleans are the same. There are four types of cleans (we can only speak for our company) for your Airbnb. There is the short stay (2-5 days), a mid-length stay (5-13 days), an extended stay (over 11 days), a deep clean, and an arrival clean.
Let's break it down for you.

The Departure Clean- The guest stayed under 13 days and will most likely require the standard clean. Strip linens, restock amenities, and wipe everything down. We charge a flat rate because this is normally predictable. Same scope every time. Sometimes there are pets, and that may be an extra fee. We have to make sure the home is fur-friendly, free for the next guests.
Extended Stay Clean (14-30 days)- Here's where it becomes intriguing. When someone stays at your place for two weeks, they use all the showers, touch every surface, and explore cabinets you might have forgotten about. We charge by the hour because the scope can vary significantly. The longer the stay, the more time we spend cleaning, staging, and organizing.
Deep Clean (30+ days or onboarding)- Whether you have a guest that leaves after 30 days, had a previous cleaner, or is empty for some time, it needs a deep clean. Dust and dirt build up everywhere. Baseboards, blinds, vents and returns, washer and dryer in and out, wash dishes in cabinets, vacuum furniture, sometimes even walls from scuff marks and splattered food, and many other items. This takes more time and will cost more than the normal departure clean.
Arrival Clean (vacant for 10+ days)- We have already completed the departure cleaning, however, the property has been empty for at least 10 days before the next guest arrives. This is a visual inspection of the home to make sure there are no bugs, water damage, who knows? Dust does settle on light fixtures and furniture in a matter of days, especially if the air filters need to be replaced.
